kill them and grill them. it's pretty simple. >> good morning, everybody, it is wednesday, november 29th, 2023. and we start this morning with a fox news alert. right now, a search is underway after a u.s. military aircraft with six people on board crashed off the coast of japan overnight our time. >> ainsley: local media is reporting that one person was killed in that crash. japanese fishermen found three of the crew members. their conditions still unknown. >> brian: officials have located the wrecked v 22 osprey and deployed life boat. number of incidents involving the hybrid aircraft. this includes a crash back in august off the coast of australia that killed three u.s. marines in a routine exercise. >> lawrence: in this incident there are report that one of the engines looked like it was on fire as the aircraft went down. we are still working to confirm what happened and we will bring you any updates throughout the morning. crazy thing. >> steve: just the news that

there was a life boat though suggests that somebody tried to get off the boat. >> ainsley: that's actually hopeful information. the osprey is an interesting aircraft it. takes off to go vertically and then high speed like a prop plane. >> steve: it's had problems it's entire life in the air. >> ainsley: now to another fox news alert. today is possibly the final day of the tentative truce between israel and hamas. >> steve: that's right. the sixth set the hostages are expected to be released at some point today joining the 60-plus others who you are looking at there who have been freed so far. men and women. steve. >> lawrence: the white house is hoping americans will be included after none were released in yesterday's exchange. >> brian: will it be extended? greg palkot joins us from tel aviv with the latest. greg? >> hey, folks, yeah. we are back in israel and right now we are in tel aviv where at many hospitals around this area those released hostages are

being treated after their horrendous treatment by hamas in gaza over the last several weeks. 12 hostages were freed overnight. israeli military, red cross, family members greeting all. these former captives have been telling horror stories, little food, light, difficult sleep, sanitary conditions. in the case of one young man beatings and being subjected to viewings of torture videos. also 60 israeli women and children 21 other hostages have been released. it's believed nearly 160 remain held by hamas and other groups. it is hoped, among the ten set to be released today, americans, here is what national security council spokesman john kirby had to say. >> there's no indication at all that hamas is trying to use leverage or something to keep americans from getting out. we can't just assume that hamas has ready access to everybody in a moment's notice or that all the americans are being held by hamas.

>> very, very tricky. as part of the deal, palestinian prisoners are being released. 180 so far out of israeli jails. what's been worked on by u.s., israeli, qatar, and hamas go betweens, the extension of the cease-fire. and the hostages exchanges. it is set to end overnight. crucial, too, guys in these recent days, humanitarian aid being brought into the battered gaza strip with most of the warring quiet for now. it's a chance to reach parts of these devastated areas. scenes of death and destruction all around. again, what we are seeing in the media here this morning and from contacts is that both hamas and israel could be willing to extend this cease-fire for at least a few days. no guarantee of that and then, after that, no guarantee of what's to come. back to you. >> brian: greg, where's the public sentiment wait it out to get as many hostages as possible or make sure we don't lose

momentum to wipe out hamas? >> my initialing take here, brian, is 50/50. people here are thrilled. people here are exstatic that these individuals are coming back from the horror show that is gaza strip. but, in the back of their minds, they still remember the hundreds and hundreds who were killed on october 7th. and the dedication by the government, by the military, and others to rid gaza of the hamas terrorist once and for all. so, they want it to go both ways. but nothing is easy, brian. >> steve: greg, i was just reading on the "times of israel" and they said the upcoming hostages who are going to be released, apparently two russian citizens are scheduled to be released in a gesture to putin. are they going to make any gestures to the united states? what about joe biden? >> that's what we hope to see, steve. we hope to see some -- it's believed there are about 8 or 9 americans being held in gaza, as

we know we saw that very sweet 4-year-old abigail being released earlier. that was good. there was that sort of token release of two americans a few weeks back. the pressure is on. hopefully today but maybe in the coming days if there is an extension that we will see more americans. >> ainsley: greg, i know it's tough when you see thousands of palestinians terrorists actually being released in exchange for these innocent children and women. do we know if the cease-fire. i know we don't know -- i guess we don't know yet if the cease-fire will continue. when will we find that information out? >> it could be in the coming hours. i mean, cia director burns is now in the region and he is huddling with the head of masad, that's the intelligence agency here in israel as well as qatar and, remember, qatar officials are the go betweens for the hamas. they are trying to work this

out. everything seems to go down to the wire even the release of the hostages that are planned seem to go down to the wire. this could be a waiting game today. hopefully, we will get some positive news, again, by the end of today you covered many conflicts. many wars. there is a lot of video camera that is out here. the pressure is mounting on israel. can you talk to our audience about the difference between this war vs. all the rest of the wars that you have covered in the past? >> this region has a history of conflict. i personally is been covering it for about 25 years. this is the worst we have ever seen. of course the horror of the deaths on october 7th in the region around the gaza strip, the hostages being taken, and the strikes by the israeli

defense force against gaza, the thousands and thousands killed. the devastation there. this is of a level not seen in this reasoning since the very beginning of israel. back in the late 40s. that's how different this is. and how complex this is. hostages, hamas, how to move, international pressure on israel to step back. this is a multifaceted crisis right now. and it changes every day. >> ainsley: thank you so much, greg. if you listener to the accounts of some of the children that have been released and are back with their families. one woman said that her children were told in captivity you have to be quiet if you are going to talk, you have to talk at a n. a whisper, the children are being very quiet now that they are back because they are used to that for the last two months. 12-year-old eaten who is a french and israeli children. he has two citizenships, his dad is still being held but his aunt is telling us as greg pointed out, that he was forced to watch horror films from october 7th.

headlines. happening today former first lady rosalynn carter will be laid to rest following a private funeral service in her hometown of plains, georgia. she was honored during the tribute service yesterday in atlanta. attended by president biden, vice president kamala harris, first lady jill biden and all the living former first ladies. former president jimmy carter, who is 99 years old and wheelchair bound also attended but did not address mourners. the carters were married for 77 years. and in washington, utah congresswoman that who i have officially sworn into congress. she is filling the last vacant seat in the house. the g.o.p. now has a 9 seat majority. meanwhile the house is expected to vote tomorrow on whether or not to expel new york congressman george santos. the motion will need two thirds of the house in order to pass. if santos is voted out, he will be the sixth member of congress ever to be expelled. those are your headlines. brian, over to you.

>> brian: thanks, brian. hunter biden wants to publicly testify on his own behalf and father's behalf on impeachment ceremony. while the g.o.p. rightfully rejected the proposal even the white house isn't happy. former aid telling politico they are quote irritated meaning abbe lowell and attorneys are being more aggressive because he is not clearing the tactics and the strategy. here to react is former acting attorney general matt whitaker. abbe lowell says bring it on. i want my client to testify front and center and i'm going to reject the request to go behind closed doors and be deposed. why won't the republicans just say okay, come on out? >> well, because first of all they should be suspicious of anything that abbe lowell proposes because he is a very talented d.c. insider that knows his game well. but i think the most important thing on this deal is they don't want hunter biden to sit for hours of deposition testimony where the counsel for the majority gets to ask questions and follow line of reasoning

without the five minute tennis match back and forth that a public hearing would have. obviously that's exactly what hunter's team wants. is they want the, you know, the democrats on the other side of the committee to be -- to clean up his answers, to run interference and to otherwise make it very difficult. it.this is a tactic that makes t look like he something transparent it's quite the opposite. it's a tactic that hides everything from the american people instead of getting the whole thing out in these depositions. remember, donald trump jr. submitted to two of these depositions in the last congress. so it's -- this is a very known way to get information from witnesses. >> brian: here is what james comer, who is house oversight chairman said about this offer. listen. >> this is the way credible investigations are conducted. hunter biden is not above the law. we will gladly have a public hearing with hunter biden after we do the deposition to go over

>> steve: welcome back to "fox & friends." we have a fox news alert. right now at this hour a search is underway after a u.s. military aircraft crashed off the coast of japan overnight our time. japanese officials say six crew members were on board the osprey, one person reportedly was killed. this is the type of the model involved as you can see there are two flying right if there. this crash is a recent string of deadly incidents involving the osprey. griff jenkins is live in washington. i was talking and the osprey involved in a press pool where they had to put down an emergency i was actually the white house reporter outside saint paul when the osprey carrying them. get to that in a minute. start with the overnight breaking news. u.s. officials are not yet confirming, steve, this crash,

but according to japanese officials and local media, a u.s. military v 22 osprey like the one you saw in that file video has crashed in the ocean of japan. here is all the details we know. japan's coast guard reported finding wreckage from an osprey believed to be carrying at least six people crashing off the southern end of japan. you can see here on the map. about two miles from the yack shim that island that you see there highlighted they appear to have found there were multiple fishing boats in the area and local fishermen say they found some of the crew members, their condition is unknown. but a local media report says that one person has been confirmed dead. this comes as there has been a

string of osprey: military exercises in australia just months ago. in june of last year. five u.s. marines killed during a training mission in california. in march of 2022, four u.s. americans killed during a large nato exercise in norway. in fact, steve, the a.p. reports that since 2012 there have been at least five fatal crashes killing 19 and japan officials say that this osprey was likely out of the air base in western tokyo. but we are waiting for u.s. military officials to weigh in to this. it comes, though, as you rightly note, steve, that there have been issues. and i remember the delay in the president's visit there to a farm, a green farm if you will in freezing wisconsin when the osprey that was bringing the press had to be delayed but all things worked out. steve, send it back to you. >> steve: griff, thank you investment all right, lawrence, you got some other news.

>> lawrence: thanks, steve. so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. george soros son alex claiming highest murder rates are not in progressive cities. don't worry his lie was immediately fact checked and show you why. let's look at the wall starting right here. these are the cities in 2022 with the highest homicide rates per 1,000 residents. coming up number one the big ease let by latoya cantrell and look at it, 71. then you go to number 2. it's led by st. louis democrat tishaura jones no we are not cousins. and then number three you guessed it another democrat debunking all of the lies, james craig this is a man fighting crime his entire life. he was the police chief for detroit. he was in l.a. as well as one point in time. chief, this seems to be one of the lies that they tell that their policies are working. they are not soft on crime. they are fighting for the working people of our country.

order, and so, guess what? dallas is one of the safest largest cities. >> lawrence: that's why he left the democratic party. >> absolutely. >> lawrence: look, i have been governing as a republican. you guys just didn't know it. now i'm officially just switching parties. another lie that they tell is that they are for the working people. they say that what they're doing is keeping americans safe. and that they are not funding the defund the police. but, chief, your city was one of the cities that didn't burn in the summer of love. >> absolutely. >> lawrence: you had the democrat as the mayor. you ask the police chief didn't allow that to happen. >> it wasn't going to happen. i got to give accolades of the mayor of detroit because he supported what i needed to do to make sure the city was safe. and, you know, the hypocrisy is such that you get some of these democrats, some, not all, who work in these cities, special with vulnerable communities. and they allow these progressive

prosecutors to come in, not to enforce the laws. and i got tell you, every city i have worked in from los angeles, cincinnati, portland, maine and detroit, michigan, guess what? people in vulnerable communities want, what? policing. they want equitable policing. they want people to go jail that violate the law. period. and so it is shameful when they try to twist it and say oh, they don't want to get people to get locked up. oh, that's wrong. it's a sad day and, you know, things have got change quickly. just like when they say the borders are not open, they are closed. the borders are open. the cartels are come in. terrorists are come in. the borders are open. >> lawrence: yeah, chief. it's lies all around and they try to go after the minority communities and black folks are saying look, we want our streets

>> steve: thanks for getting up early on the farm you get up early anyway. tell me about super pigs. they listen to me say that yeah right it's a pig. explain why they are so hard to get rid of and the damage they do. >> the pigs started out being imported into canada from europe to grow for food. but through processes, they escaped or some of them were released and they seem to thrive in the wild. these aren't your normal pigs growing in big warm barnes. these are pigs that are hearty, lots of hair. good fat layer and they multiply rapidly. so, as they got into the wild, and they continued to grow and adapt to the area, they can have one, two, and three litters a year. and pretty scary thing when you think about the population explosion. >> steve: that's the worry for farmers and ranchers like you. okay. so right now the problem is

mainly in canada. but, if they come a couple of miles into your territory, how would they impact you? >> my big concern is diseases that they carry. known to carry up to 32 diseases. pseudorabies, things that would directly affect my cow herd. >> steve: if your cattle got those diseases which you do vaccinate against some of them, but some of the other things, rabies and stuff like that you can't really vaccinate cows for that. >> some things we vaccinate for. these pigs bring diseases that, like you say we don't always vaccinate for or we don't have a vaccine for. once it's in your herd, you can lose cattle. you can lose productivity. there is human health hazards that come with that. >> steve: it's always something. finally, it could be a problem here in the united states. because canada is not addressing
